 About the Role

We are currently advancing though the product development cycle to production and are looking for a full time, on-site, Scrum Master / Agile Coach to help accelerate and expand our product development. The Scrum Master / Agile Coach with work to keep the team coordinated and focused on the highest priorities in coordination with the Product Owner and will also coach teams in self-organization and self-management and help them coordinate and participate in Lean-Agile events.

 

General Requirements

  • Scrum Master / Agile Coach has the following general requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline (science, engineering, technology)
  • 7+ years in a technical role delivering hardware/electronic components (i.e., not just software) to commercial customers with at least 2 years as a Scrum Master / Agile Coach
  • Scrum Master / Agile Coach and Project Management certifications are required
  • On-site work in Tempe AZ
  • Experience with fast-paced/early-stage companies is desired

  • Coaching – this is the main method used to promote agile mindset and work with the team to improve; a Scrum Master / Agile Coach is highly interested in helping a team improve
  • Communication – this role requires consistent facilitation of meetings to all level of the company, from the team level to leadership; having a broad range of communication styles is required
  • Teamwork – as a servant leader, this role is a teamwork-based role; the team always remains priority #1 over the individual
  • Strategic Mindset – a focus towards larger strategy and the future is required to succeed in this role
  • Manages Conflict – conflict will arise naturally on a team and this role must manage and, sometimes, encourage conflict for the greater good of the team and company
  • Plans & Aligns – this role can serve as guardrails, constantly aligning, and facilitating the team

 

Responsibilities

Scrum Master / Agile Coach is focused primarily on the following responsibilities.

  • Guiding the team to consistently improve through Inspect and Adapt sessions, identifying Kaizens to bring into future work, and coaching
  • Proactively eliminating or minimizing impact of blockers, and addressing challenges to team delivery; shielding the team from external interference
  • Coaching of individuals and agile teams on agile principles, practices, and methodologies
  • Facilitating team and company events including, but not limited to, daily standup, inspect and adapt, retrospective, backlog refinements, sprint planning
  • Evolving, improving, and expanding team practices to fit the specific needs of the teams and company
  • Understanding the impact and support the vision for change within the organization; developing a network of change agents to promote change and manage resistance to change.
