For One UX Leader, Clear Point Remains a Trusted Recruiting Partner
User experience leader Susan Rice has had a long working relationship with Clear Point, dating back over a decade ago to a UX management workshop in Boston.
That’s where Susan met Clear Point CEO Carol Szatkowski, who attended the workshop to gain an even deeper insight into the UX field.
“Carol had attended this 2-day workshop just to learn about the management of UX challenges,” Susan recalls. “Clear Point had an obvious attention and desire to really understand the UX field.”
Since then, Susan has worked with Clear Point to recruit staff several times throughout her career. In her latest role as Vice President of User Experience at Workiva, she turned to Clear Point once more to fill some tricky roles on her team.
Workiva, which provides Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions for financial reporting and compliance, was growing quickly. In fact, Susan needed to fill at least six critical positions in a hurry.
She faced an added challenge of hiring during the so-called “Great Resignation,” when many people chose to leave roles or pursue other professional opportunities. Additionally, she was searching for experienced, senior-level candidates, which is a small and coveted talent pool.
“It’s easy to source your own candidates for a junior position, but it’s really hard for senior leads,” Susan said. “Clear Point was excellent to partner with on this, as always.”
Compared to engineering or product teams, UX teams don’t always receive the same resources within technology firms, Susan noted. That’s why it was critical for Clear Point to help her team make the most effective hires that would demonstrate value quickly.
“Working with the Clear Point team is easy—because they ultimately always deliver,” Susan said.
During this round, Clear Point worked alongside Susan and the hiring team at Workiva to fill five designer roles and hire a senior UX manager.
“Enterprise senior and lead designers are hard to find and the field is very competitive,” Carol said. “We worked hard to close those opportunities.”
Susan looks forward to working with Clear Point again as her team grows.
“One of the hardest things is filling certain types of roles,” she said, “and Clear Point has been an excellent partner, yet again.”
