Our Client is looking for a Technical Writer to join their team on a 6 month contract to assist with creating documentation methodology and framework for systems and processes.

The estimated duration of the project is 6 month and will offer the option to work from a remote (virtual) location.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for processes, database, reporting and visualization, and users that meets organizational requirements

  • Obtain a deep understanding of products and services and articulate this complex information into straightforward, professional, and engaging content

  • Develop content and communicate in ways that are appropriate for the intended audience

  • Design, develop, and maintain detailed indexes of all reference materials

  • Prepare and/or maintain documentation pertaining to Enterprise Intelligence products and services programming, system operation and user documentation

  • Create documentation methodology and framework

  • Determine, in conjunction with Enterprise Intelligence leadership and product managers, the technical documentation needs of end users, sales, marketing, training, and customer service to develop content, format, and delivery of product documentation

  • Research, outline, compose, and maintain new and existing content, working closely with business leaders, customer service and other client-facing employees, and developers to understand project and product details and customer needs

  • Formalize and document all system development, core product, and solution-specific code and related materials, including locations of databases, data extraction steps and requirements, interaction between SQL databases and web interfaces, programming methodologies, toolkits, and more

  • Outline drawings, diagrams, charts, screenshots, and any visual tools that may increase internal and external understanding of products and services

  • Plan, write, and maintain systems and user support documentation efforts, including online help screens and user documentation manuals, and document training curriculum

  • Select appropriate medium for documents and support materials, such as manuals and online videos

  • Standardize content across platforms and media

  • Gather usability feedback from end users, developers, and leaders

  • Maintain a comprehensive library of technical terminology and documentation

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university preferred

  • Previous technical experience with knowledge of currently used technical language (including SQL, SSRS, C#, Javascript, ASP, among others)

  • Ability to communicate and translate complex and highly technical information into clearly- understand written documents and visualizations

  • Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex technical topics

  • Previous experience writing documentation and procedural material for multiple audiences

  • Superior written and verbal communication skills with a keen eye to details

  • Ability to multi-task – ability to quickly shift attention among multiple tasks under distracting conditions without loss of accuracy or efficiency

  • Comfortably and confidently use a computer and specialized software, especially Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio

  • Open to changing situations and opportunities and willingness to perform all tasks assigned

  • Maintain composure and friendly professional demeanor while dealing with stressful issues

  • Strong business acumen and complex problem-solving skills

  • Strong teamwork, collaboration, and leadership skills

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and project management skills
