Our client is seeking a UX Design Lead for their enterprise product.

In an ordinary day, designers can expect to lead and collaborate on re-structuring a business process using service-design methods; empathically engage with people to tease out the structure inherent in customer landscapes; evolve our global design system to support conversational experiences; embed machine intelligence into enterprise products to simplify and automate complex workflows; and enhance end-user experiences by crafting delightful digital / hybrid interactions.

This position is based out of Portsmouth, NH with some flexibility for working remotely

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and lead design activities and teams throughout the complete product and service life-cycle, from building understanding and empathy, through ideation, product definition, iterative design and delivery, going-to-market, and evolution
  • Draw from the full spectrum of design disciplines including interaction design, service design, design research, information architecture, visual design, content design, design strategy, etc. to improve customer experiences from end to end
  • Guide partner making disciplines such as Engineering, and Product Management on jointly framing problems, discovering insights, crafting effective strategies, articulating strong experience-centered visions, defining concepts and prototypes, and guiding iterative development of new and existing offerings
  • Coordinate and participate in a portfolio of simultaneous efforts for a line of business or group of related product and service offerings across digital and real-world channels
  • Combine Design Thinking, Lean methods, and Agile practices to support integrated delivery, continuous learning, and strategic alignment for a line of business, or group of related product and service offerings
  • Provide strategic perspective on customer experience to product development partners, business line leaders, and global UX leadership
  • Advocate for and lead user-centered approaches to exploring new technologies and capabilities such as machine learning / artificial intelligence, automation, and conversational experiences
  • Define and communicate intended end-to-end user experiences to product development audiences and stakeholders through compelling design artifacts
  • Plan, guide and conduct learning activities that combine generative / evaluative / design research approaches in support of ongoing discovery and delivery goals
  • Contribute to and lead the evolution of the design systems supporting client’s diverse family of products, services, and touch points
  • Exemplify professional practices for design and design leadership
  • Mentor design staff for professional growth and development
  • Shape product development practices to reflect greater customer-centricity, including design thinking

 

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience designing complex digital products, services, and experiences, including web-based, mobile, desktop, agentive, embedded
  • 3+ years planning and leading multiple / large-scale / high impact design-centered efforts to improve product and service experiences
  • 2+ years of team leadership
  • 2+ years leading change in product development methods / practices and groups
  • Exceptional skills and background for design of complex business-to-business products, services, and applications
  • Deep understanding of design methods and the composite user experience toolkit
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply accessibility guidelines
  • Strong leadership, facilitation and organizational skills
  • Master’s degree in Interaction Design, HCI, Graphic Design, or equivalent, preferred
  • Robust work portfolio illustrating thoughtfulness and quality
