Everyone goes into a job interview nervous, and this can lead to mistakes.

The biggest mistake that many applicants make is failing to ask relevant questions before the interview draws to a close. Sometimes, you’ll be so focused on showing off your qualifications that you’ll be taken aback when the interviewer seeks your input.

You always want to have at least one question about the job handy, because it shows that you are invested in the opportunity. Don’t ask something simple that can be answered by glancing on the company’s website, because this shows that you didn’t spend much time preparing.

Try asking how the position you’re applying for has evolved over the year, or what previous employees have done with it. This signals to the interviewer that you are interested in making your mark on the company.
