Carol founded Clear Point Consultants, Inc in 1989 with the idea that an agency that specialized in the rather small niche of technical writing and training was not only viable but needed. Instructions had to be so clear, why not specialize in placing the best communicators, the best technical writers and trainers in the market? So she did and with 18 years of placements and contacts, Clear Point Consultants has an enormous referral network that accounts for 90% of its business.
Carol’s interest in helping people find work that suits them comes from her steadfast practice of yoga. When she isn’t working, she can be found at the beach, in the woods or reading.
A native of the North Shore, Karen Peake spent the first part of her career in corporate education in a variety of roles from business development, to needs analysis, to marketing and sales. Her love of education led to a 6 year stint as a middle school English teacher and now translates into a true joy in working with instructional designers, technical trainers, course developers and technical writers in a variety of high tech settings as a recruiter and account manager for Clear Point Consultants.
When not working, Karen's true passion is sailing, especially racing sailboats in her home port of Marblehead, MA. Karen has competed in the Newport to Bermuda sailboat race as well as Marblehead to Halifax and numerous local races. Always eager to share her passion Karen is a volunteer instructor for the Women's Sailing Foundation.
Marlene has been with Clear Point Consultants since 1996 and is well known for her skills as a “business matchmaker.” She has extensive knowledge about the industry, both the current marketplace and its trends. Marlene specializes in understanding what makes a great job match: culture, experience, technical expertise, and common goals. Her continual referrals are a testament to that business savvy. She chose to be a recruiter to make a difference in people’s lives.
When Marlene’s not meeting and interviewing clients and candidates, she enjoys living in her small seaside community, is an avid reader, bike rider and enjoys her walks with the family Westie, Zorro. She can also go head to head on MLB statistics with most sports enthusiasts and ends a lot of her calls with “Go Sox”!
Betsy Dalton joined Clear Point in the summer of 2004 bringing over 20 years experience in high tech sales and customer support. Betsy started the inside sales group at Progress Software, was a customer support rep and manager at Genesys, and worked in several hi tech start-ups. She loves to work with and help people, to solve problems and to make a difference. At Clear Point she brings all this experience to bear in all her candidate and client relations.
In addition to recruiting, Betsy teaches yoga on a regular basis on the North Shore and is known for her excellent Slow Power classes which are usually full to capacity. She loves to guide her students through their individual practices. When there’s time, Betsy teaches horseback riding, a life long passion. She has a family, two rescue dogs from New Orleans, a cat and a frog.
